Nutrition: prevention, treatment or both? (4)

We as nutritionists are involved so much in the
management of HIV/AIDS either through reseacrh or just
day to day nutrition counselling which is very
commendable.

I attended the just concluded ICASA conference on
access to care for PLWHAS but i was dismayed by the
fact that not much publicity was done to what
nutrition can do.We know very well when we talk of
care Nutrition and other forns of care must be
included. I saw an article on HIV/AIDs and food
security and that was it. On the other hand the drug
therapy seems to gain lots of support which i also
support, BUT, no treatment without the correct food!!

Mine is to encourage us to shout what we have found
out in terms of Nutrition and management of HIV/AIDs.
We have it, lets us share it and continue exploring!

Congratulations all for your contribution towards this
kind of knowledge.

Dorothy
