Nutrition prevention, treatment or both?(6)

To Motoky

When one becomes HIV positive health is not affected immediately. But the moment the immune systems becomes weak ,it progresses to Full blown HIV/AIDS. People who have blown condition are found to be defficient in vitamin A, Zinc e.t.c. which have effect on the immune system. It is not very clear whether the HIV/AIDS blown up condition results from the defficiency of micronutrients which enhance the immune system or reduces the level of these micronutrients, because infected are defficient in these micronutrients.
What is clear is that the management of the defficiencies of these elements slows down the progression of HIV/AIDS. So , good nutrition before and after testing positive could prevent the progression of the disease. The immediate control of the opportunistic diseases is also very important.
I believe that good nutrition can help contain the progression of HIV/AIDS.

What can we say about nutrition and HIV prevention? Does nutrition have anything to do with HIV prevention as opposed to treatment? Anyone?

Thanks,

Motoky
