Dear all,
The Kenya Coalition for Action in Nutrition (KCAN)
wishes to announce its inaugural National Nutrition
Congress to be held between 21st and 23rd February
2005, in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the Congress
will be ?Food and Nutrition Security for Health and
Development?, while the sub-themes are: 
1.	Nutrition, Immunity and HIV/AIDS; 
2.	Nutrition throughout the Lifecycle; 
3.	Clinical Nutrition and Nutrition & Lifestyle; 
4.	Food Security and Safety; Micronutrient Nutrition; 
5.	Nutrition and the Environment ? Econutrition; 
6.	Nutrition in Emergencies; Nutrition & ICT and
Functional Foods

You are hereby invited to prepare and submit your
Abstract of up to 250 words, as follows:  
o	Abstract are to  be submitted electronically
(address) as MS Word file attachments, in English
o	Font size 12 - Times New Roman, typed in single
space
o	Type the title in CAPITAL LETTERS, followed by the
name(s) of the author(s). Underline the presenting
author. Initials must precede the surname. Include the
institutions of all authors.
o	Leave one line space between the authors,
institution and the beginning of the text
o	The body of the abstract should be organized as
follows:
·	State the principle objectives and scope of the
investigation
·	Describe the methodology employed
·	Summarize the results
·	State the principle conclusions reached
·	State an indication of practical application

o	Authors are encouraged to prepare presentations that
will make use of LCD equipment.

No late Abstracts will be accepted. All Abstracts must
be received by the Secretariat at
kcansecretariat@ccfkenya.org before 1200H (East
African Time) on 31 August 2004. All abstracts will be
subjected to an evaluation process of the Scientific
Committee of the Congress to assess the suitability
for inclusion in the Congress programme.
