Daisy my sister,
You may not need to develop NEW nutrition & HIV/AIDS guidelines for
Zimbabwe. There are a number of materials that you could use in your
WORK.
One, there is a draft guideline for your country lying at UNICEF
office. A Mr. Stanely C. was responsible for this some years ago.
MoH/Nutrition Unit may help to trace the drafts. I RECOMMEND that you
support finalizing these guidelines, instead of WRITING new ones.
Two, Marlou B. developed dietary guidelines for people living with
HIV/AIDS for the city of Mutale (or something like that). This is a
beautiful booklet that has been used widely inside and outside
Zimbabwe. If the government never approved this booklet I don't see
them approving another that they have not developed themselves.
Three. There is a nutrition booklet developed by the network of people
living with HIV/AIDS of Zimbabwe: another beautiful piece of work.
Then there is a lot or work by WHO/FAO, FANTA, RCQHC, etc that you
could adapt to your context. You could also "steal" ideas from the RSA
guidelines, or those from Lesotho, or Swaziland, or from Namibia,
Botswana, Uganda, and very, very soon from Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia.
My dear, you have a lot of materials to help you start doing something
and a lot to help you draft something, IF YOU MUST.
Warm Regards and thank you for doing the good work among PLHA.

Dear Nutritionists,
A lot has been written on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS. However, I wanted
some
advice on how I can come up with standard nutrition guidelines for
PLWHA,
which I intend to submit/recommend to my government as soon as
possible.
Apparently our Ministry of Health has not yet developed these as
yet.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
