Hello everyone
What are the phytate levels of this soy bean and nuts? Are the ground nuts supposed to be roasted or not? You should also advice on how long to cook the porridge.
A study carried out by Mary Mugambi (PhD) Stellenbosch in Kenya. a children's hospital. They assessed different flour mixtures that mothers were giving their children. The ones that had legumes had the highest phytate levels and these are known to block absorption of iron and other nutrients and leach calcium from the bones. This study was motivated by increase of rickets in the pediatric hospital.
Please advice according regarding the mixture below. thanks.
"soyar bean powder or ground groundnuts"

Does anyone out there know of any substitute for infant formula for infants (under 6 months) whose mothers are too sick to breastfeed or whose mothers have died. As you may know, imported infant formula had become very scarce in Malawi and is now just about impossible to find.
Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated.
