Is it possible to use these stadiometres from Scale 2000 to measure the supine (lying down) length for children less than 24 months as well. One of the challenges in community nutrition assessments is the bulkiness of the stadiometers, hence if the one from Scales 2000 can also be used in taking the supine length then that is really good news for the nutrition assessment field teams. Or does anyone know of any other less bulky equipment (and vendor) for taking the length measurements of the under 2 year olds?

During 2001-2003, for a nutrition assesssment study, I purchased several basic stadiometers from Scales 2000 in Durban, South Africa. We used them in clinics, and even on home visits (they are sturdy and not too bulky), and cost about $US 35 per ite then.

Subject: [AODA-Country-Reps] stadiometres
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can suggest a good vendor (in Southern Africa, or
beyond) for purchasing a stadiometres for measuring height in adults.
There is one vendor here in Namibia who is extremely expensive. We're
looking for the most basic stadiometres to use for trainings, nothing
fancy.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Best,
Michelle
