Hi, Josee,
I would like to add that UN agencies especially UNICEF , WFP and FAO
contributed a lot on the elaboration of the Rwanda National Nutrition and
HIV Guideline and Protocol through a National Nutrition Working Group.
Collaboration between TRAC, MOH Nutrition desk and partners will be
important for the next step.
Thank you

RWANDA has developped a National Nutrition and HIV/AIDS guideline and
protocol with FANTA's assistance. We had an official lunch of these 2
documents where were invited all Directors of districts hospitals (they are
all Medical doctors) and all partners, the media was invited ; we
distributed some copies in that meeting and invited whoever need it to
contact TRAC (Treatment and Research Aids Center) office. This guideline is
in Minister of Health website.

After that we elaborate a nutrition training module based on this
guideline.
We are disseminating the guideline through various trainings of health
workers. We have 2 types of training, training for trainers and training
for health workers and for differents beneficiairies : medical doctors,
nurses, nutritionnists and social workers. When its training for trainers
each group is considered separately.
Partners also distribute the guidelines in their sites. I can estimate
that half of the health workers knows about this guideline. we did not yet
conduct any survey even to see how efficiently it is being used, this will
be our next step after total dissemination.

Kind regards.

Hi Gilbert, Thanks for the Info, which country are you from? I downloaded
the book from Fanta on Hand book on Developing and Applying National
Guidelines on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS. Very Useful.

Did you carry out any survey to find out how many know about the
guidelines,or did you know this. Was there a national dissemination of the
National Guidelines?.

Thanks.
