I am a nutritionist involved in the treatment of HIV+ children with severe acute malnoutrition.

May anyone help me with information on the criteria of case-detection of SAM for HIV positive children or HIV exposed children?

WHO, Unicef and some African guidelines reccomend to detect SAM cases on the basis of the prevalence of Weigth for Height Z-score <-3 and MUAC <11,5 cm. and presence absence of bipedal oedema, but for HIV+ children I have some problems because the high prevalence of Stunting.

May anyone help me with information if there is a reassessment of SAM case-detection in the context of HIV?

May anyone inform me about RTUF in prevention of SAM for HIV+ or HIV exposed children?
